2018 Archibald & Wynne Prize Finalists - Six Nanda\Hobbs artists selected

Congratulations to the six Nanda\Hobbs artists who have been selected as finalists in the 2018 Archibald and Wynne Prizes at the Art Gallery of NSW. Jun Chen, Jonathan DaltonKathrin Longhurst and Ben Smith are all Archibald finalists and James Drinkwater and Paul Ryan have been selected for the Wynne Prize. Winners are announced on Friday 11 May.

All are highly worthy finalists with outstanding paintings on display at the Art Gallery of NSW from 12 May - 9 September.

The major work in Kathrin Longhurst's upcoming exhibition Protagonist has been purchased by The Bennett Art Collection in Texas, USA and is planned for inclusion in a major public exhibition in Chicago next year.

James Drinkwater - Hand Embellished Unique State Etchings

In 2015six months after being awarded the coveted Brett Whiteley Travelling Art ScholarshipJames Drinkwater journeyed into the interior of Australia. Working en plein air in the dry creek beds with canvases roped to desert oaks, the artist created paintings, drawings and hand embellished unique state etchings.
