Again I steal from Liechtenstein, an artist that I hope would be more understanding of the act than most. He is an archetype of the pop-artist and his self-referential work helped shape the modern expectation of what an artist is.
In his painting In The Car I have imagined what that young woman was thinking to, hoping to, explain to the great artist. The fan becomes a means to fan the flames of his fame and ego. She is an object as much as the fan serving only in her capacity to him and little more. The fan is a fanatic.
