Tim Maguire’s luminous diptych transforms a cluster of berries into a compelling meditation on light, colour and perception. Built through finely layered, chromatically separated paint, the forms glow with an uncanny translucence, hovering between recognition and abstraction. Familiar yet strangely removed from nature, the berries become sensuous, almost erotic, inviting contemplation of desire and distillation. Developed in the 1990s, Maguire’s distinctive process reimagines traditional botanical subjects through a contemporary painterly language.
