Join Brett McMahon at Nanda\Hobbs for his official Artist Talk on Saturday 27 June from 2 – 3pm.
Across more than three decades of practice, McMahon has developed a distinctive abstract language shaped by the Australian landscape, where observation and structure converge. Soundings continues this exploration, leaning into the subtle tensions between intuition and control that drive McMahon's practice.
Following the opening of Soundings, McMahon will sit in conversation with fellow exhibiting artist and sculptor, Anton Forde, whose solo exhibition Uranga opens concurrently. McMahon will discuss the ideas and processes underpinning this latest body of work.
Together, McMahon and Forde will offer insights into their respective practices and the enduring relationship between environment, material and meaning.
