Kirsty Neilson searches for inherent beauty in an imperfect world. Utopia, her latest exhibition, draws on the tranquillity of the landscape near her home north of Sydney. Immersed in her own Eden, she creates work that morphs the real and imagined through the delicacy of her brush. In effect, she creates a landscape of the mind. In this place, Neilson challenges us to seek the equilibrium in our existence. Her passion for social change and her deep spiritual belief make up the DNA of these landscape paintings. Neilson plays with accuracy, tempering the real with a more expressive line. The energy moves her vision to a more ethereal plain, allowing us to step through a door into a just, generous and humane world. -
