Artist and friend Karen Black posed for this painting seated nude on her custom designed Edra On The Rocks Sofa. As most artists become their work her figure is morphed into one of her twisted and gnarled ceramic sculptures, that although abstract still casts a shadow thereby blurring the line between reality and fiction or art and life. Black hides behind her long mane of silver hair and her head is shrunken implying the nature of the artist hiding behind one's work. However she peers out at the viewer through the patterned eyes of the carpet in constant observation.
