Layered through the composition are painted forms by Nickolla Clarke referencing the sacred tea tree lakes on Arakwal Country. Her mark-making reflects water, healing and cultural knowledge held within the landscape, situating the portrait within a living relationship between family, place and story.
Together, the work speaks to kinship and collective strength — where identity is shaped through connection to Country, cultural continuity and the bonds shared across generations.
