VAULT: Sparks from the Darkness—LOTTIE CONSALVO

VAULT explores the dualities within Lottie Consalvo's practice

VAULT Magazine's Issue 53, includes a beautifully written and  in-depth feature by Michaela Bear about Newcastle artist, Lottie Consalvo's incredible practise which moves between the visible and the unseen, the tangible and the imagined.

The artist's broken sleep habits has opened her up to a nocturnal world with deeper self-connection and intuition.

She also paints in darkness, attempting to tap deeper into intuitive making, creating beyond sight and rational thought. "It's not just about what happens because it's dark, but because there'll be other forces at play."

Lottie's new body of work will be revealed in her solo exhibition "OF THE NIGHT" showing at Nanda\Hobbs from 28 May until 20 June. The exhibition will also celebrate the launch of her major book, "We hover above the ground in hope that we might float".
