Anthea's primary focus as Associate Director is facilitating major relationships with new and long-term clients, and assisting the shape of the gallery’s contemporary curatorial direction. She works closely with collectors to navigate significant acquisitions, offering informed guidance that balances critical rigour, market awareness, and long-term collection strategy.
Following a decade-long career in marketing and advertising, Anthea transitioned into full-time curation and arts writing, bringing with her a strategic understanding of communication, audience, and positioning within the cultural sector. Her work bridges critical analysis and market awareness, enabling her to support ambitious acquisitions while maintaining a strong curatorial and conceptual framework.
Deeply engaged with contemporary dialogue and the broader cultural narratives across Australia, Anthea contributes regularly to arts magazines, journals, exhibitions, catalogues, and critical essays. She is known for her articulate, research-driven approach to contemporary writing, and enjoys contributing regularly to both national and international publications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with Honours, a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and a Bachelor of Art History.
