Libby Knott

Senior Art Consultant

As Senior Art Consultant, Libby brings over 25 years of experience in the contemporary art sector, working closely with artists, collectors and institutions to facilitate acquisitions and shape significant private, corporate and government collections.

With an extensive knowledge of both emerging and established artistic practices, Libby advises across a broad spectrum of collecting, from considered acquisitions of early-career artists to significant individual purchases. She is passionate about identifying exceptional talent, championing emerging artists and supporting the continued development of established artistic careers.

Complementing her experience in the art world is a background in design, including her work with Marimekko, and extensive engagement with interior designers. This experience informs her discerning eye for colour, composition and the relationship between art and its environment. Bringing together an understanding of artistic merit with a sensitivity to spatial and aesthetic considerations, Libby offers a considered approach to curating artworks for individual spaces and developing cohesive, meaningful collections.

Combining deep industry knowledge with an intuitive understanding of both art and design, Libby works closely with clients to navigate the gallery’s stockrooms and exhibition program, connecting them with works that resonate aesthetically, intellectually and personally. Whether advising first-time buyers, experienced collectors or design professionals, she brings a thoughtful, individual approach to each acquisition, balancing artistic integrity, quality and value with the broader vision for a space or collection.
