We examine the dialogue between instinct and control; from the immediacy of mark-making to the slow discipline of material form. How do artists navigate this balance?

The sweeping, physical expressiveness of Consalvo and McMahon; the raw, archetypal weight of Forde’s carved forms; the fluid luminosity of Tosca’s glassblown objects. To counter these are Mansfield’s noir interiors and Snape's painstakingly imperfect inflated steel compositions—works that distill observation and restraint. Between these polarities we find Drinkwater, Chen, and Horder, layering gesture and colour in ways that feel both intuitive and deliberate. Rogers’ sculptural practice completes the circle, translating painterly sensibilities into dynamic, spatial form.
