2023 Archibald, Wynne + Sulman finalists announced

The judges of Australia's most anticipated art award have made their selection with 2023 finalists just annouced. Congratulations to Nanda\Hobbs artists—James Powditch, Marie Mansfield and Kim Leutwyler who are all Archibald finalists with Powditch also selected for the Wynne Prize.

Winners will be announced on Friday 5 May. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 6 May and will be on show until 3 September 2023.

Jun Chen painting sells at double the estimate, Shapiro Auctioneers 24 Sep

The AFR's Salesroom has reported that a painting by Jun Chen sold for $18,750 at Shapiro's sale of Art and Objects from the Estate of Ray Hughes on Tuesday 24 September against estimates of $8000 to $10,000. It's the second highest price recorded at auction for Chen and is 25% higher than the current gallery price for a work of a similar size.
