Caroline Zilinsky wins a second major 2020 art prize—the Evelyn Chapman Art Award

4 November 2020

Caroline Zilinksy is celebrating her second major art prize win this year. She's just been announced as winner of the Evelyn Chapman Art Award with her painting Heiress to the Pied Piper, 2020, Oil on linen, 97x97cm (pictured above). The $50,000 scholarship is presented to an Australian painter, male or female under 45. It intends to support the young artist by furthering their art education both in knowledge and art practice at a recognised art school or organisation internationally or in Australia.

Caroline say's "this will mark the embarkation of a new journey that follows in the footsteps of Russell Drysdale, traversing the harsh and rugged parameters of NSW, documenting our strange land. With the spirit of Evely Chapman at the helm, I hope to re-imagine Australia's identity in the 21st century"

In May this year Caroline also won the preeminent portrait prize for women artists, the Portia Geach Memorial Award.
