Caroline Zilinsky wins the 2020 Portia Geach Memorial Award

14 August 2020

CONGRATULATIONS to Caroline Zilinsky - 2020 winner of Australia's most prestigious art prize for portraiture by women artists the Portia Geach Memorial Prize - for her portrait of dancer, "Anthea Pilko title Anthea May Or May Not".

According to the judges “the winning work captured our attention with its unique style and meticulous attention to detail,”. “This bold and penetrating work sensitively portrays the sitter, naked yet proud and strong. The artist has successfully navigated the line between the absurd and the profound in a distinctive personal and imaginative manner that is disarmingly honest.”

Congratulations also to Kathrin Longhurst, Kim Leutwyler and Dee Smart who were selected as finalists in the prize. We're so proud of the incredibly talented female artists at Nanda\Hobbs.
