Presenting Yoshio Honjo "Goraku no jikan" Nanda\Hobbs Project Space, 13-29 April

3 April 2023

We are excited to present Japanese artist, Yoshio Honjo's latest exhibition Goraku no jikan (Time to free the human mind from work and engage in pleasure and entertainment) opening on Thursday 13 April.

In this body of work the artist explores a day in the lives of geisha in the contemporary world—living a life free from work and ceremony. The beautiful rendering of ink by a modern master on handmade Washi paper is delicate and precise. With these works, Honjo transcends time and social strata to celebrate the tradition of the iconic entertainers.
