Floria ToscaNanda\Hobbs presents a commanding selection of artists (Nicholas Blowers, Lottie Consalvo, Selma Coulthard, Matt Coyle, Jonathan Dalton, Anton Forde, Marie Mansfield, Andrew Sullivan, Roger Swainston, and Floria Tosca) expanding the language of contemporary practice. With significant presence—including major survey exhibitions, national prizes, and representation in influential public and private collections—each sits at the forefront of Australian contemporary art.
Each artist shares a commitment to probing the material threshold: transitional moments where perception is reconfigured. Forms are stretched, unsettled, or reimagined entirely, revealing a deeper sensitivity to the unseen structures that shape our human and environmental experiences. From interior worlds to psychological terrains and fragile ecologies—each artist carries an unmistakable sense of self, held in the tensions and rhythms of their practice.
Stretching from intimate observations of the domestic to expressive interpretations of landscape, alongside investigations of cultural and ecological identity, these artists share a sensitivity to materiality and storytelling. They consider how our interactions with natural and cultural worlds shape us. Introspective, expansive and grounded, each artist offers a meditation on transition as an essential condition of existence, becoming an active zone of inquiry. What emerges when boundaries soften, blur, or dissolve entirely?
