Lives and works in Bowral

Tim Storrier
For Storrier, devastation and restoration of material matter.
Tim Storrier spent his early childhood on the family property 'Umagarlee', in the Central West of New South Wales, and has produced meticulous work charged with direct and associative references to that place and period since 1970.
Storrier combines technical finesse with an emotionally charged and often theatrical element to produce works that strike a chord with the uncompromising reality of the Australian landscape, its limitless space and its boundaries.
Awarded an AM for his services to art in Australia in 1994 and a Doctor of Arts by Charles Sturt University in 2003, Storrier's work is prized in Australia and overseas. His work is hung in collections in the National Gallery of Australia, the Louvre Museum, Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the National and Tate Galleries in London, as well as Australian State and regional galleries and leading private collections.
